A few years ago, some dear friends of mine showed me an online... well, I can't really call it a game, but more of an online, massively-multi-user experience called Second Life. At the time I didn't see much use for it, and used it as an infrequent diversion, harassing users and building useless monuments to my own immaturity. The more I dismissed it, though, the more money they started making from it, to the point where this became their sole source of income, and they weren't living meager by any standard.
